1. Clannad ~ Beautiful story, tremendous characters, and an amazing ending. Incredibly meaningful, yet still had very funny moments. Definitely the best show I've ever seen, and I never feel like anyone who's watched it understands it to its full extent.
2. Minami-Ke ~ Doesn't necessarily have a set-in-stone plotline, but is very casual and utterly hilarious all at once! Whenever I'm bored of another show, I switch over to this one because I know I won't be disappointed. The art style's a little bit old, but it's bearable.
3. Air (TV) ~ A very dramatic, heartfelt story, my favorite music from anime, but the series was just too short. Had there been more than 12 episodes, I would have become more attached to the characters, and the ending would have been more meaningful. Otherwise, beautiful concept and artwork.
4. Attack On Titan ~ Incredible setting, great story-line, only the artwork bothered me quite a bit, initially. The bold outlines around the characters were quite distracting at first, but it is possible to become used to it eventually. Nice characters, though could use a little more development before character deaths.
5. Hetalia: Axis Powers ~ Absolutely adorable! Not too much of a plot, and mostly just snippets, but the movie was excellent. The characters are all endearing, and the casual tone makes for a very entertaining show.
6. Neon-Genesis: Evangelion ~ Very deep, though because of my age at the time of watching it, I do not feel like I can do the show justice. Superb characters, great comic relief (yet deep meaning), and interesting story.
7. Fruits Basket ~ I can't decide where to put this one. I've only watched the show, so obviously the ending was less than adequate, so I suppose I don't have much of a right to rank this one. In the highlights of the show, however, the characters were lovable and relatable, the tone optimistic (borderline idealistic) and overall very feel-good.
8. Tokyo Mew Mew ~ Surprising, is it not? For a transforming shoujo anime, this was astonishingly good. I hate to have it compared to Sailor Moon, despite its somewhat childish tone and style, because it actually had a quaint and sweet story to it. The ending was less than satisfactory, but besides that, the show itself was quite enjoyable.
9. Chobits ~ The story was very cute, and it took a very long time for me to work up the nerve to watch it. For some reason, I had the feeling that a girl robot with a male master would go to naughty places, but actually the show was completely sweet and very heartfelt. The artstyle is somewhat unique, which is refreshing, and the characters are all very relatable.
10. Love Hina ~ For a long time, I thought this show was going to bad as well. But when I actually delved into it, I was pleasantly surprised. The plot line can be somewhat confusing near the ending of the show, but at the very end it is all understandable. The characters are all very different, which is delightful to observe, and (unlike many other harem animes), the show picked a particular path instead of having the main male character have small, insignificant plot lines with each of the girls.
11. Full Moon wo Sagashite ~ Very long, but still very good. May seem somewhat childish at times, but overall, still very sweet. The characters are all adorable. At times, animation was very obviously lacking, but the artstyle overall was satisfactory. The story was quite interesting, and the ending was a good sum-up for the whole thing.
12. Angel Beats! ~ I don't know if something's wrong with me, but I didn't enjoy Angel Beats very much. The main characters' relationship was unappealing to me, and I felt more drawn to some of the lesser characters who weren't very developed. The show had a few good moments, and yet, the show as a whole did not seem very well planned out.
13. ef - A Tale of Memories ~ I didn't like the characters in this show, except for one or two, maybe. The plot line was semi-interesting, yet the hook-ups between the characters were almost completely meaningless. Overall, I don't remember gaining anything from the show.
14. Kanon ~ I suppose I should not have watched Kanon 2002 instead of 2006. Absolutely horrible artwork, almost painful to watch. The show would have been somewhat interesting, had the main character not have followed each and every girls' route. By doing so, each relationship was increasingly less significant, and the show itself lost any meaning whatsoever. The characters were decent, some were developed, others stereotypical. Overall, a big disappointment, considering it was made by Key.
